Training Development
Before any training program begins, it is necessary to develop the course materials and presentation methods. This process depends on multiple factors, including program goals, technical topics, time available, modes of instruction (live, virtual, lecture, demonstration, etc.), and typical student profiles. All this is critically important for international U.S. government programs striving to convey Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) to adult learners. To meet these challenges, CTP adopted the philosophy and methodology of Instructional Systems Design (ISD), notably the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) model. ADDIE is a step-by-step framework that instructional designers, training developers, and learning and development specialists use to create educational or training programs. In addition, our ISD experts use our extensive network of SMEs first to provide the critical knowledge and then later deliver the finished course materials in the eventual deployments.
Training Delivery
International training events are the culmination of tremendous preparation. Before the SMEs even begin to teach a class, there are significant preparatory efforts in Program Planning, Event Management, and Training Development--as described above and elsewhere on our website. During the actual training, the SMEs follow the course design of the ISDs, using both the content and the methods they proscribed. Working in parallel are the interpreters, the on-site organizers, the caterers, and the transportation team. The success of each event and the program overall depends largely on the preparation and onsite management that allows the training to proceed without delay or distraction.
Online Training Portal
Online Learning via CTP’s Learning Management System (LMS) is an effective way to maximize organizational training budgets and reach broad swaths of learners. CTP customizes online training tools that can deliver a range of instructional materials, from essential knowledge transfer to detailed simulations. Our courseware is designed in HTML, which dynamically adapts to desktop computers, laptops, and even mobile phones. The software also enables managers to monitor user activity, track results, and maximize the budgetary impact. Engagement rates of LMS users are typically high and, equally important, the knowledge is retained longer when students use active interaction modules and explorative learning.
Localization
For onsite training and technical cooperation with foreign nations, the success of the desired solutions also depends on the modifications needed to incorporate the local language, laws, and cultural norms of cooperating countries. Only when this "localization" process is complete can we successfully deploy the various program solutions (typically technical training, organizational development, or software tools) in the desired locales, typically airports, seaports, and border checkpoints.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Large-scale training programs represent a meaningful organizational investment. This is why we build, collect, and analyze client-driven success metrics to measure effectiveness and design improvements. CTP’s data-driven monitoring and evaluation approach aims to evaluate each training session's knowledge transfer effectiveness and present collective results that promote long-term sustainability. Our methodology is founded in the industry standard Kirkpatrick Model of training assessment, which allows us to consistently measure and report performance in the transfer of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs).
